Ryszard Bugajski’s film “The death of Captain Pilecki” tells the story of a Polish intelligence officer who volunteers to be imprisoned in Auschwitz. Once inside the camp, Pilecki forms an inmate resistance network, and smuggles information out to the Polish government-in-exile, enabling them to convince the Allies that the Holocaust was taking place in occupied Poland.
Actor Marek Probosz, who stars as Witold Pilecki in the film, will speak following the screening.
Presented in cooperation with the Polish Consulate of Chicago.
