UPDATE: 2 Injured in CTA Yellow Line Derailment

Two CTA workers suffered minor injuries and commuters were directed to take the bus around 9:30 p.m.

SKOKIE, IL - A derailment on the CTA Yellow Line in Skokie had service stalled Thursday night. Two CTA workers reported minor injuries. 

The Transit Authority tweeted shortly after 9:30 p.m. that “service has been temporarily suspended” due to the derailment, which occurred in Skokie near the Dempster Street station.

No passengers were on the train when it derailed and none were injured, the Chicago Tribune reports. Commuters were directed to use the No. 97 Skokie bus instead.

According to the CTA website, service became officially suspended at 9:32 p.m.
