District 219 Board To Hold Town Hall On Achievement, Finances

D-219 will hold a town hall meeting Tuesday and a finance committee and special meeting Wednesday.

SKOKIE, IL — Niles Township High School District 219 invited members of the community to attend a town hall meeting Tuesday evening to discuss updates on the academic and financial health of the district. The meeting comes amid two special school board meetings featuring closed-door self evaluation by board members.

The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. in the South Commons of Niles West High School, 5701 Oakton St. Guests were asked park in the south parking lot for easy access to the meeting.

Superintendent Steven Isoye and other district administrators are due to provide an overview of the newly released results of this year's 2016-2017 Illinois Report Card, as well as an update on the financial health of the district. Administrators will also discuss the district's efforts to enhance its Bridges program which provides adult transition services for students with disabilities ages 18 to 22, according to a news release from the district.

Then on Wednesday, the board's finance committee is due to consider the 2017 property tax levy and school fees for 2018-2019 at a 6 p.m. meeting, according to a posted agenda for the meeting at the 7700 Gross Point Road administrative building.

Immediately following the committee meeting, the open portion of a special meeting of the full board is set to discuss and take action on personnel, the SAT practice program, bus drivers at Niles Central, a discussion of the driver's ed fee and other matters.
