DUI Driver Charged With Child Endangerment: Skokie Blotter
Morning carjacking reported in Old Orchard parking garage; public indecency; pedestrian struck; cars stolen: Skokie Police Department

SKOKIE, IL — The following information comes from the Skokie Police Department as a record of those recently arrested and of incidents reported to the police. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. An arrest is not evidence of guilt, and criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.
INCIDENTS
BURGLARY ATTEMPT/SHOPLIFTING
Someone tried to break into the Target, 4955 Dempster St., around 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 14. An unidentified man entered the store around 9:15 p.m. and stole an air mattress.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO STATE PROPERTY
Several unidentified people ripped a stop sign out of the ground in the 8000 block of Karlov Avenue around 11 p.m. on Feb. 16.

CARJACKING
A robbery and vehicular hijacking took place in one of the Old Orchard Shopping Center garage's around 7 a.m. on Feb. 17. No further information about the incident was immediately available from police.
SHOPLIFTING
A repeat shoplifter stole nearly $440 worth of over-the-counter drugs from the Target, 4955 Dempster St., around 10:45 p.m. on Feb. 21, store staff told police.

ROBBERY
A robber punched and kicked a person around 11:15 p.m. on Feb. 21 in the 4900 block of Hull Street. The attacker took a backpack, which had a laptop inside, police were told.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
A burglary took place at the Market Place on Oakton, 4817 Oakton St., around noon on Feb. 22.
PEDESTRIAN STRUCK
A pedestrian in a parking lot in the 9400 block of Skokie Boulevard reported she was struck by a driver who fled when she called the police around noon on Feb. 25.
PUBLIC INDECENCY
An incident of unspecified public indecency was reported in the 4800 block of Golf Road between 9:23 p.m. on Feb. 24 and 6:34 p.m. on Feb. 25. No further information was immediately available from police.
HOME BURGLARIES
- A home in the 8400 block of Kimball Avenue was burglarized between 5:30 and 9:15 p.m. on Feb. 15. No one was in custody.
- Someone burglarized the garage of a home in the 5400 block of Harvard Terrace between 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 15 and 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 16. Someone else tried to break into another garage on the same block during the same timeframe.
- A residential burglary was reported in the 5300 block of Grove Street between 8:30 and 9 a.m. on Feb. 24.
BATTERIES
- A Buffalo Wild Wings patron at Old Orchard Mall reported a former friend had punched him in the parking lot around 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 21, causing injuries to his face.
- An aggravated battery was reported around 11:15 p.m. on Feb. 22 in the 8000 block of Lincoln Avenue.
STOLEN CARS
- An Enterprise rental car stolen sometime after Feb. 7 was recovered in the 9100 block of Forestview Road around 8:15 a.m. of Feb. 22.
- Someone stole a black Chevrolet from the 3400 block of Church Street around 12:15 a.m. on Feb. 23.
- Someone stole a car from a driveway in the 6900 block of Latrobe Street between 9 p.m. Feb. 24 and 4:30 a.m. Feb. 25. The car was later found and the owner did not seek to press hares.

ARRESTS
Blanco Juarez Ana Blanco, 30, of the 8200 block of Knox Avenue, Skokie, was arrested around 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 16 and charged with resisting police and criminal trespassing in the 5000 block of Harvard Terrace.
Gerald Carey, 52, of the 9900 block of South Wentworth Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 17 at his home and charged with burglary.
Eric T. Pomeroy, 59, of the 6100 block of Ventura Drive, Plainfield, was arrested around 9:45 a.m. on Feb. 18 in the 9800 block of Lawler Avenue and charged with violating the requirements of the Illinois sex offender registry.
Nabeel Raza Sayed, 38, of the 9600 block of Southeast 7th Street in Bellevue, Washington, was arrested around 6 a.m. on Feb. 19 in the 8200 block of McCormick Boulevard and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He was also issued citations for illegal transportation of an open container of alcohol by a driver and unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver.
Dragan Joseph Ivanov, 28, of the 3800 block of West Estes Avenue, Lincolnwood, was arrested around 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 20 in the 5600 block of Old Orchard Road and charged with theft of more than $500.
Marisa Ann Quaderer, 26, of the 7500 block of North Bell Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 4:15 p.m. on Feb. 21 in the 3200 block of Howard Street and charged with theft of less than $500.
Cornellius Rashad Hentz, 30, of the 7500 block of North Rogers Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 9 p.m. on Feb. 21 at his home and charged with theft of more than $500.
Parker J. Cavalier, 24, of the 8400 block of Karlov Avenue, Skokie, was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a traffic crash with property damage to village property around 9:45 p.m. on Feb. 23 in the 8200 block of Crawford Avenue.
Hector Hernandez-Mendoza, 31, of the 2000 block of West Birchwood Avenue, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and endangering the life of a child following a traffic stop in the 8400 block of McCormick Boulevard around 1:35 a.m. on Feb. 24.
