Duo Robs 7-Eleven At Gunpoint; Neighbors Arrested: Skokie Blotter

SKOKIE, IL — The following information comes from the Skokie Police Department as a record of those recently arrested and of incidents reported to the police. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Readers are reminded that everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless their guilt is established beyond a reasonable doubt, and criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

INCIDENTS

HOME BURGLARY
Someone stole bicycles and electric scooters from a home in the 9200 block of Tripp Avenue between Aug. 5 and 8.

BATTERY
A person in custody spat on an officer around 1:16 a.m. on Aug. 12.

BURGLARY
A business in the 7700 block of Austin Avenue was burglarized between 3:15 and 5:20 a.m. on Aug. 12.

ARMED ROBBERY
Two people with a gun robbed the 7-Eleven at 7950 North Crawford Avenue around 5:32 a.m. on Aug. 13. They robbed cash, cigarettes and the clerk's necklace. No further information or description was provided.

IDENTITY THEFT
A Kilbourn Avenue resident reported on the morning of Aug. 13 that someone had used their identity to fraudulently rent a car on July 25.

STOLEN CAR
A resident in the 9300 block of Kostner Avenue reported that someone stole a convertible from behind a garage between 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 11 and 11 a.m. on Aug. 13.

BURGLARY
Around 2:08 p.m. on Aug. 13, someone reported a burglary at a public storage facility in the 8000 block of McCormick Boulevard.

DECEPTIVE PRACTICES
Someone presented counterfeit currency around 12:15 p.m. on Aug. 13 in the 1000 block of Old Orchard Court.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE
Someone stole all four wheels from a car parked in the 8000 block of Kilpatrick Avenue between 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 13 and 7 a.m. on Aug. 14.

BATTERY
A battery was reported in the 4900 block of Old Orchard Center around 3:52 p.m. on Aug. 15. An unidentified woman reportedly pushed a door open, striking another person.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone smashed the back window of a car parked in the 4600 block of Dobson Street around 6:45 a.m. on Aug. 16.

ARRESTS

Edwin F. Plata, 20, of the 6200 block of Hermitage Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 5:37 a.m. on Aug. 12 at the Skokie Police Department and charged with battery.

Theophillus A. Hood, 44, of the 1900 block of Jackson Avenue in Evanston, was arrested at 3:12 p.m. on Aug. 13 at the Skokie Courthouse and charged with burglary.

Isaac T. Hall, 18, of the 1300 block of East 83rd Street in Chicago, was arrested at 4:36 p.m. on Aug. 13 and charged with retail theft at the Walmart, 3626 Touhy Ave.

Kayris L. McGhee, 21, of the 8000 block of South Kenwood Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 11:47 p.m. on Aug. 13 and charged with retail theft.

Carl E. Broman, 55, of the 900 block of Dempster Street in Evanston, was arrested at 1:57 a.m. on Aug. 14 in the 3700 block of Dempster Street and charged with DUI and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or above.

Justin Jay E. Dunlap-Edwards, 25, of the 10000 block of Frontage Road in Skokie, was arrested on an in-state warrant at 7:17 p.m. on Aug. 14 at a hotel in the 5200 block of Old Orchard Road.

Azbayar Khurelbaatar, 29, and Purevdorj Avirmed, 50, both of the 8800 block of Lacrosse Avenue in Skokie, were arrested at on the evening of Aug. 16 on the block in which they both live. They were each charged with disorderly conduct.

Gregory L. Kalble, 65, and Melissa V. Lopez, 37, both of the 9100 block of Lawler Avenue in Skokie, were arrested at 9:32 p.m. on Aug. 17 at their homes and charged with retail theft.

Kammaria Madourie, 18, of the 9000 block of Keating Avenue in Skokie, was arrested at 8:18 p.m. on Aug. 18 in the 4000 block of Greenwood Street. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, obstructing identification, possession of 10 to 100 grams of cannabis and criminal damage to property.

Edward Y. Lazar, 62, of the 4900 block of Kirk Street in Skokie, was arrested at 11:32 p.m. on Aug. 19 at his apartment and charged with aggravated assault and violation of an order of protection.
