Floral Avenue Reaches 70-Percent Sold Mark, Achieves Skokie's Highest Home Sale Price Since 2014
Three-story home sells for $965,000, leaving only six lots for sale at new-home community in downtown Skokie
Skokie-based StreetScape USA and its exclusive sales and marketing firm, @properties, announced that Floral Avenue, a new single-family home development in downtown Skokie, is now 70-percent sold with only six lots remaining. According to Andrew Herrmann of @properties, the development’s most recent sale, a three-story home that sold for just under $965,000, marks the highest sales price for a single-family home in Skokie in more than 12 months.
Located on tree-lined Floral Avenue, near Oakton Street and Lincoln Avenue, the project features 20 custom-tailored single-family homes starting at $509,000. All homes are situated on 28-foot wide lots and include customized floor plans, energy efficient features, and a front porch to promote neighborly living.
According to John McLinden, president of StreetScape USA, Floral Avenue’s success has been driven by the developer’s How Do You Live custom-approach to homebuilding and increased demand for more urban alternatives to traditional suburban home design.

“The urbanization of the suburbs continues to be a hot topic in housing,” said McLinden. “More suburban buyers are gravitating towards thoughtful design and walkable communities, and Floral Avenue is a primary example of that.”
Situated in downtown Skokie, Floral Avenue is within walking distance of numerous shops and restaurants, parks, grocery stores, a library and the CTA Yellow Line, which provides direct service to downtown Chicago.

The recently-sold three-story home, located at 8154 Floral Ave., includes four bedrooms, three full baths and more than 3,200 square feet of living space. Features include a contemporary design with Miele stainless steel appliances, extensive tile work throughout the home, a finished basement, surround sound and a terrace off the master bedroom.
