Gun Fired Into House With 4 Kids, 7 Adults Inside: Skokie Blotter
Revenge porn blackmail, several robberies and a series of home burglaries were reported by Skokie police between April 21 and May 30.

SKOKIE, IL — The following information comes from the Skokie Police Department as a record of those recently arrested and of incidents reported to the police. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. An arrest is not evidence of guilt, and criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.
INCIDENTS
ROBBERIES
- Two people followed a 15-year-old boy out of a McDonald's in the 4800 block of Dempster Street jumped him in a parking lot after 9:15 p.m. on April 27, beating him and kicking him on the ground before stealing cash, a backpack, a necklace and headphones. One of the attackers reportedly said, "I'm in a bad mood. You need to give us your stuff."
- A robbery was reported between 9 and 10 p.m. on April 29 in the 4000 block of Dempster Street.
- A robbery was reported in the 7800 block of Avers Avenue around 6 p.m. on May 18, but the victim did not wish to press charges.
- Someone tried to rob two minors in the 4900 block of Oakton Street at some point between 5:40 p.m. on May 9 and 10 a.m. on May 21.
- A robber beat a person and stole their cash and cell phone between 9:50 and 10 p.m. on May 25 in the 5200 block of Old Orchard Road.
HOME BURGLARIES

- Someone broke into a home in the 5300 block of Suffield Terrace between 4 and 5 p.m. on April 22 by forcing open the front and rear doors to the garage.
- A residential burglary was reported in the 8900 block of Lavergne Avenue between 5 and 9 p.m. on May 1.
- Two apartments in the 5000 block of Carol Street were burglarized between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. on May 2.
- Someone also burglarized a home in the 5000 block of Carol Street between 11 p.m. on May 5 and 1:50 p.m. on May 6.
- Someone burglarized a home in the 8000 block of Kilpatrick Avenue between 7 p.m. on May 6 and 8 a.m. on May 7.
- A residential burglary reportedly took place in the 9100 block of Bennett Avenue between March 20 and May 9.
- Someone stole various legal documents from a home in the 7700 block of East Prairie Road between 11 a.m. on May 9 and 12:15 a.m. on May 10.
- Someone broke into a home in the 5400 block of Greenleaf Street between 5:10 and 5:37 p.m. on May 17.
- Someone burglarized a home in the 3400 block of Arcadia Street around 12:30 a.m. on May 20.
- Two people claiming to be contract workers for the village of Skokie burglarized a home in the 7600 block of Niles Center Road between 4:32 and 4:47 p.m. on May 21. One was described as a 5-foot, 6-inch, 40-year-old Hispanic man weighing about 150 pounds and wearing a khaki jacket, black undershirt and dark blue jeans. The other was described as a 5-foot, 8-inch, 30-year-old Hispanic man weighing about 140 pounds with short black hair and wearing a white jacket with a blue trim.
- Someone broke into a home in the 5100 block of Farwell Avenue between 7:30 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. on May 23, stealing various pieces of property from inside.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
- An unidentified woman who began yelling profanities at another woman after she parked in the Walmart parking lot around 11 a.m. on April 23 is suspected of scratching the side door of a car.
- Someone threw landscaping bricks through two front windows of a home in the 3600 block of Greenleaf Street around 2 am. on May 11.
THREAT
A resident in the 4300 block of Greenwood Street reported on the morning of April 22 that a former handyman sent a text message that said "I'll kill you."

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
A criminal trespassing and aggravated assault to police officers was reported around 2 a.m. on April 24 at the Jewel-Osco at 9449 Skokie Boulevard.
ROAD RAGE
A road rage incident around 9:20 am. on April 29 in the 8200 block of Kimball Avenue resulted in a report of an aggravated assault and a battery.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Someone called 911 from an unlisted telephone number around 9 p.m. on May 4 and reported that there was a "flame botnet" at Niles North High School and asking for the fire department to be sent to the school. Niles North staff checked security systems and determined there was no threat. Police said an internet search revealed the "flame botnet" is a type of malware.
PUBLIC INDECENCY
A resident of an apartment building in the 5000 block of Carol Street reported around 6:45 p.m. on May 7 that they found two naked people in the building's laundry room. The resident had never seen the pair before and believed they were about to have sex.
AGGRAVATED BATTERY
A school employee in the 7800 block of Lincoln Avenue was battered and assaulted shortly before 1 p.m. on May 9.
SEXUAL ASSAULT
An incident of aggravated criminal sexual assault and aggravated battery to a senior citizen was reported between 11:30 a.m and 12:30 p.m. on May 25 in the 9700 block of Gross Point Road.
REVENGE PORN/BLACKMAIL
A woman told police on May 28 that her ex-boyfriend had sent her friend a screen shot from a sexually explicit video that he had recorded without her permission and demanded that the woman remove the order of protection she had put in place against him or otherwise he would post the videos onto social media. The woman wished to press charges. Police did not disclose any arrests in connection with the incident.

ARRESTS
Timothy D. Jolliffe, 21, of the 6800 block of West Highland Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 3:30 a.m. on April 21 in the 5300 block of Touhy Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater.
Benjamin V. Pop, 32, of the 3800 block of Clifford Terrace, Skokie, was arrested around 5:30 a.m. on April 21 in the 4100 block of Oakton Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Rosemary Mikhail, 29, of the 4100 block of Colfax Street, Skokie, was arrested around 4:30 p.m. on April 21 at the Skokie Police Department and charged with criminal damage to property.
Marcie A. Berthelsen, 37, of the 7700 block of Niles Center Road, Skokie, was arrested around 1 p.m. on April 22 in the 5100 block of Jerome Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater.
Ruben Rodriguez, 24, of the 4800 block of North Drake Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 12:30 a.m. on April 24 in the 5100 block of Dempster Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater. and driving without a valid license.
Dwayne R. Lasenby, 57, of the 1500 block of South Millard Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 9 a.m. on April 25 in the 4800 block of Oakton Street and charged with battery.
Keith M. Wiley, 60, of the 9000 block of South Cornell Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 11 p.m. on April 25 in the 5300 block of Touhy Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater.
Alexis Bianca Jones, 19, of the 2400 block of West Farwell Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 5 a.m. on April 26 in the 7800 block of Lamon Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of drugs and driving with a suspended or revoked driver's license.
James R. McDonald, 46, of the 11000 block of South Artesian Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 3:30 a.m. on April 28 in the 4000 block of Howard Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Tristan M. Nichols, 19, of the 9000 block of Lamon Avenue, Skokie, was arrested around 7:30 p.m. on April 28 in the 8300 block of Skokie Boulevard and charged with aggravated robbery in connection with an incident in the 4800 block of Church Street earlier that evening. A 19-year-old Glenview man was released without charges in connection with the same investigation.
Eric M. Baker, 21, of the 1200 block of South Millard Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 5 p.m. on April 30 in the 7900 block of Lincoln Avenue and charged with theft of less than $500 and contributing to the criminal delinquency of a minor after a wallet was reported stolen from a store in the 4900 block of Oakton Street.
Rosa Maria Garcia Martinez, 43, of the 6600 block of North Seeley Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 6:30 p.m. on April 30 in the 5200 block of Oakton Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Flora E. Idia, 39, of the 7000 block of North Ridge Boulevard, Chicago, was arrested around 6:30 p.m. on May 4 in the 4800 block of Golf Road and charged with endangering the health of a child.
Daniel L. Villanueva, 44, of the 8300 block of Kolmar Avenue, Skokie, was arrested around 2:15 a.m. on May 5 in the 4200 block of Howard Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Kalil Q. Austin, 22, of the 4700 block of Davis Street, Skokie, was arrested around 10:30 a.m. on May 5 in the 9100 block of Niles Center Road and charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, unlawful use of weapons and defacing the identification mark of a firearm. Police said a disturbance among family members escalated to the point where Austin fired at a house with seven adults and four children inside.
Marco A. Onofre, 31, of the 3000 block of North Luna Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 2 p.m. on May 6 in the 5000 block of Dempster Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater.
Angel Amber Sindt, 27, of the 10000 block of Linda Lane, Des Plaines, was arrested around 10:30 a.m. on May 9 at the Skokie Police Department and charged with criminal damage to property.
Randy V. Sharpe, 47, of the 9000 block of Keating Avenue, Skokie, was arrested around 3:30 p.m. on May 9 at his home and charged with aggravated assault.
Christoper S. O'Connell, 47, of the 9200 block of Gross Point Road, Skokie, was arrested around 6 p.m. on May 9 at his home and charged with battery.
Diana Alejandra Colmenares, 37, of the 8300 block of Keating Avenue, Skokie, was arrested around 11:15 p.m. on May 9 in the 4400 block of Church Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Adrian I. Aguilar, 21, of the 8200 block of Kilpatrick Avenue, Skokie, was arrested around 12:30 a.m. on May 11 at his home and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 and resisting police.
Kyle P. Gaskill, 26, of the 6400 block of Albert Street, Morton Grove, was arrested around 3:30 a.m. on May 12 in the 9000 block of Lacrosse Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater.
Seth Mohammed, 26, of the first block of Walsh Street in Bloomfield, Connecticut, was arrested around 9 p.m. on May 12 in the 9000 block of Lacrosse Avenue and charged with intimidation after police were told he trespassed in a home and threatened to harm a person if his instructions were not followed.
Anu Varghese, 29, of the 4800 block of Mulford Street, Skokie, was arrested around 11:45 p.m. on May 17 in the 8000 block of Niles Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater.
Brian E. Nathavinh, 30, of the 4700 block of North Keeler Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. on May 19 in the 4700 block of Oakton Street and charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of drug equipment, misdemeanor possession of between 10 and 100 grams of marijuana and resisting police.
Lady Barbara Espinoza, 19, of the 1300 block of East Washington Street, Des Plaines, was arrested shortly after midnight on May 21 at the Skokie Police Department and charged with felony possession of more than 30 grams of cannabis.
Dario A. Arroyo, 34, of the 8500 block of Lillibet Terrace, Morton Grove, was arrested around 4 a.m. on May 21 in the 4900 block of Main Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Henry Cebeko, 65, of the 7500 block of Frontage Road, Skokie, was arrested around 11:15 a.m. on May 21 at his home and charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
Mohammed B. M. Darsaleh, 31, of the 8000 block of Knox Avenue, Skokie, was arrested around 8 p.m. on May 21 in the 8200 block of Crawford Avenue and charged with harassment by telephone.
Anglica M. Lopez, 22, of the 1800 block of North Narragansett Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 3:30 a.m. on May 22 in the 8600 block of Harms Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater.
Noah J. B. Smuckler, 22, of the 8500 block of Lawndale Avenue, Skokie, was arrested around 9 a.m. on May 22 at the Skokie Police Department and charged with domestic battery.
Agripina Roman-Sotelo, 44, of the 2600 block of North Parkside Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 3:30 p.m. on May 22 at the Old Orchard courthouse and charged with burglary.
Eghbal Ebrahimi, 22, of the 1700 block of West Albion Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 10 a.m. on May 23 at the Skokie Police Department and charged with reckless conduct and criminal damage to property.
Leonel Rodriguez, 33, of the 4900 block of Kirk Street, Skokie, was arrested around 8:15 p.m. on May 24 in the 8100 block of Skokie Boulevard and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Frank M. Gorguis, 24, of the 3800 block of West Lunt Avenue, Lincolnwood, was arrested around 3:30 a.m. on May 25 in the 300 block of Ridge Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police said he was involved in a single car crash earlier that morning in the 7700 block of Lincoln Avenue.
Jasmine J. Winfield, 22, of the 2100 block of Darrow Avenue, Evanston, was arrested around 5:30 p.m. on May 25 in the 8700 block of St. Louis Avenue and charged with the assault and battery of people who recognized in the 3500 block of Dempster Street that afternoon.
Vidal Dwyer, 66, of the 1200 block of McDaniel Avenue, Evanston, was arrested around 8 p.m. on May 26 at his home and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
Christian Heredia Reyes, 18, of the 500 block of Custer Avenue, Evanston, was arrested around 4 a.m. on May 27 in the 7100 block of McCormick Boulevard and charged with driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs and driving without a valid license.
Sean Serban Dinu, 32, of the 8000 block of Sepulveda Boulevard in Van Nuys, California, was arrested around 4 p.m. on May 28 at the Skokie Police Department and charged with disorderly conduct.
Kenneth Wayne Cosgrave, 37, of the 1400 block of Bell Lane, Libertyville, was arrested around 11 p.m. on May 28 in the 5000 block of Old Orchard Road and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug equipment.
Zykia M. McNeal, 23, of the 100 block of North Lavergne Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 4 p.m. on May 29 and charged with identity theft at the Apple Store at the Old Orchard shopping center.
Marck Villareal Carreon, 35, of the 5100 block of Greenwood Street, Skokie, was arrested around 1 p.m. on May 30 at the Skokie Police Department and charged with criminal trespassing.
Shawn Rashidi, 28, of the 1400 block of South Canal Street, Chicago, was arrested twice on May 30. Around 1 p.m., he was charged with aggravated robbery, possession of a controlled substance and resisting police in the 8300 block of Skokie Boulevard. Around 7:30 p.m. at Skokie Hospital, he was arrested again and charged with escape.
