Gunman Robs Resident In Garage; Chicago Man Strikes Cop: Blotter
Armed robber arrested, British hotel guest charged with battery and shoplifting pairs arrested at local stores: Skokie Blotter, Dec. 6 to 17

SKOKIE, IL — The following information comes from the Skokie Police Department as a record of those recently arrested and of incidents reported to the police. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Readers are reminded that everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless their guilt is established beyond a reasonable doubt, and criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.
INCIDENTS
BANK SCAM
Staff at the First Financial Credit Union reported numerous customers had notified them that someone had created a fake promotional flyer claiming the bank had pre-approved loans and asking for a down payment. The credit union had not authorized anyone to offer such a deal.
FORGERY
Fake checks from a business in the 8200 block of Christiana Avenue were forged between Dec. 6 and Dec. 8.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
An aggravated battery was reported on Dec. 8 when a patient at Skokie Hospital attacked two guards.
STOLEN CAR FOUND
A vehicle previously reported stolen was recovered in the 8400 block of Kenton Avenue around 3:30 a.m. on Dec. 9.

BATTERY
Two people reported being assaulted and battered on the morning of Dec. 11 in the 9000 block of Lavergne Avenue.
BOMB THREAT HOAXES
Unfounded bomb threats were reported at several local businesses on Dec. 13. Employees received emails on work accounts with messages such as, "I would like to suggest you a transction. You send me 20,000 $ Bitcoin and explosive will not detonate. (sic)" More info...
HOME INVASION
A resident in the 5300 block of Davis Street reported that an unidentified robber managed to get into a garage by crawling underneath the door as she tried to close it. The intruder pointed a gun at the resident and demanded cash. The gunman then apologized and fled without taking any money.
FIREARM INCIDENT
Police responded to the 3300 block of Dempster Street around 10:45 p.m. on Dec. 15 for a report of a suspicious incident involving a handgun. No further information was immediately available from police.

ARRESTS
Diandra A. Cabral, 29, of the 100 block of South Swall Drive, Los Angeles, was arrested around 2:10 a.m. on Dec. 6 at the Skokie Walmart and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug equipment.
Anthony J. M. Zero, 30, of the 2900 block of West Chase Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 5 p.m. on Dec. 6 at the Skokie Police Department and charged with
Rebecca L. Cooper, 34, of the 8900 block of Bronx Avenue, Skokie, was arrested around 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 7 in the area of Niles Center Road and Wright Terrace and charged with driving under the influence of drugs.
Gustavo A. Torres Pantino, 20, of the 2000 block of Dodge Avenue, Evanston, was arrested around midnight on Dec. 8 in the 8000 block of Kildare Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater.
Angelique M. Scott, 23, of the 4600 block of Lake Park Avenue, Chicago, and Jacquelynn D. Howard, 23, of the 200 block of East 132nd Street, Chicago, were arrested around 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 8 and charged with retail theft from the Old Orchard Macy's store.
Nella Milman, 60, and Rakhil Milman, 86, both of the 900 block of West Lakeside Street, Chicago, were arrested around 5 p.m. on Dec. 9 and charged with retail theft from the Old Orchard Macy's store.
Arkadiusz Olsanski, 31, of the 1900 block of 73rd Avenue, Elmwood Park, was arrested around noon on Dec. 10 at the Leighton Criminal Courts Building on a charge of armed robbery. Months later, he remained jailed.
A 33-year-old English man arrested around 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 10 at the DoubleTree hotel, 9599 Skokie Blvd., and charged with battery in connection with an incident earlier that day at Village Inn, 8050 Lincoln Ave. The charges were later dropped.
Lynn M. Beaty, 40, of the 7300 block of North Damen Avenue, Chicago, and Hallie H. Cleland, 18, of the 1100 block of Church Street, Evanston, were arrested around 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 10 and charged with retail theft at the Skokie Walmart.
Ashley S. Ross, 31, of the 4800 block of Greenleaf Street, Skokie, was arrested around 4 p.m. on Dec. 11 and charged with retail theft at the Skokie Target.
Jasmine R. Ott, 23, of the 2400 block of West Greenleaf Avenue, Chicago, and Kayla L. Murphy, 19, of the 7300 block of North Bell Avenue, Chicago, were arrested around 4:45 p.m. on Dec. 11 and charged with retail theft from Macy's store at the Old Orchard Mall.
Anthony Hawks, 50, of the 1600 block of North Orchard Street, Chicago, was arrested around 7 p.m. on Dec. 11 on an in-state warrant at the Old Orchard Shopping Center.
Anaile Serna, 24, of the 5700 block of North Maplewood Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 1 a.m. on Dec. 12 and charged with retail theft at the Skokie Walmart.
Kyle D. Fenton, 53, of the 22300 block of Denium Road, Omaha, was arrested around 2 a.m. on Dec. 13 in the 5200 block of Old Orchard Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater.
Glenn Kovitz, 56, of the 4900 block of Carol Street, Skokie, was arrested around 9:15 a.m. on Dec. 13 in the 9100 block of Crawford Avenue and charged with criminal trespassing.
Yessica Jaramillo, 19, of the 7000 block of North Clark Street, Chicago, and Abraham Salgado, 20, of the 3800 block of West George Street, Chicago, were arrested around 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 13 and charged with retail theft from the Skokie Walmart.
Christianah A. Apaleokhai, 36, of the 6700 block of North Ashland Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 14 and charged with retail theft from the Old Orchard Macy's store.
Miguel A. Cienfuegos, 26, of the 2200 block of North Laramie Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 8 p.m. on Dec. 14 in the 3700 block of Howard Street and charged with driving without a valid license and driving under the influence of alcohol.
Jennifer E. Quezada, 24, of the 8600 block of Ferris Avenue, Morton Grove, was arrested around 4:15 a.m. on Dec. 15 in the 3700 block of Oakton Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater.
Daniel S. Dieckmann, 32, of the 1500 block of West Estes Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 4:40 a.m. on Dec. 15 in the 3700 block of Oakton Street and charged with aggravated battery and resisting police after reportedly striking a Skokie officer in the chest and resisting arrest.
Roberto E. Ruiz, 65, of the 4300 block of North Kimball Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 5:45 a.m. on Dec. 16 in the 7100 block of McCormick Boulevard and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Kayla L. Sanders, 22, of the 3300 block of Colfax Place, Evanston, was arrested around 6 p.m. on Dec. 16 in the 3300 block of Oakton Street and charged with driving under the influence of drugs.
Bradley W. Miller, 39, of the 2600 block of North Harding Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 16 and charged with criminal trespassing at the Holiday Inn.
