Praised as ”a tour de force of jazz, cabaret and opera,” by the Chicago Tribune, celebrated performer Hilary Ann Feldman brings her newest show “Laughing Matters: the Life and Laughs of Carol Burnett” to Skokie Theatre on , 7924 N. Lincolns Ave., Skokie, IL, Sunday April 3 at 2pm. Tickets are $22. Call 847-671-7761 or visit SkokieTheater.org.

The world has enjoyed a love affair with Carol Burnett for over fifty years. Carol can do it all – sing, dance, act, make you laugh, and break your heart. But it was her legendary eleven year musical-variety TV show that made her Lucille Ball’s rightful successor as the red-headed Queen of Television Comedy.

Sharing songs from Burnett's career, and stories from Burnett herself, Hilary will take audiences on a tour of Burnett's life. Hilary and her partner in crime, Chicago musical favorite Beckie Menzie (who will serve as musical director, pianist, and comic foil) will even bring back some of the show's most beloved characters.

In prepartaion for this show Hilary received assistance from Carol’s long-time special material writer/coach/pianist Emmy Award-winner Ken Welch in obtaining an obscure piece that he wrote for Carol and her mentor Lucille Ball. The personal highlight for Hilary was when Carol Burnett, personally called her to talk about the tribute show.

Named “one of the top five female musicians in Chicago,” by CBS2 Chicago, Hilary’s debut CD Taking Flight was awarded “CD of the Year” in the Cabaret/Folk genre by New York’s Cabaret Hotline Online and is available on iTune,s CD Baby, and amazon.com.

Praised as “a lovely vocalist… the right balance of musicality, story, and heart,” by New York Cabaret Scenes Magazine, Hilary has performed to acclaim her solo cabaret shows at venues throughout Chicagoland, as well as in New York, Los Angeles, and London. Now Hilary returns with her brand new must-see show that will illustate why audiences fell head over heels for this comedy legend (often while Carol was doing just that). You’ll be so glad you had this time together!
