Local Members Of Congress Host Health Care Hiring Event

Members of Congress from Chicago's North Shore invited job seekers to a hiring event at Oakton Community College featuring dozens of employers from the health care industry.

U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky, an Evanston Democrat, and U.S. Rep. Brad Schneider, a Democrat from Deerfield, will host the event from Friday, Oct. 11, with health care providers, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, pharmacies, state agencies, drug companies and more who are looking to hire to fill current job openings.

The health care hiring event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tenhoeve Room on Oakton's Des Plaines campus at 1600 E. Golf Road. Early entry for veterans begins at 9:30 a.m. There will be a pair of 45-minute information sessions. From 10 a.m., attendees can learn tips for an effective job search. From 11 a.m., the focus will be on how to use LinkedIn in a job search.
