UPDATE: All Lanes Clear on the Edens Near Lake Avenue

UPDATE 5:10 p.m. - All lanes are clear near Lake Avenue, according to an ABC-7-Chicago report.

4:10 p.m. - Massive delays have begun on the Edens Expressway in both directions as crews are inspecting the Lake Avenue bridge in Wilmette after concrete fell on the roadway below.

WGN Skycam provided video of the delays, which appear to affect northbound commuters mostly. Traffic is down to one lane in both directions.

A truck carrying an over-size load on Lake Avenue hit the bridge and damaged it, according to ABC’s report. The bridge had not been closed.
