Men Arrested For Armed Robbery, Sex Assault, Videotaping: Blotter
Groups charged with shoplifting, driver with DUI and fleeing: Incidents and arrests from the Skokie police blotter from Jan. 7 to Jan. 21

SKOKIE, IL — The following information comes from the Skokie Police Department as a record of those recently arrested and of incidents reported to the police. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Readers are reminded that everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless their guilt is established beyond a reasonable doubt, and criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.
INCIDENTS
CRIMINAL SEXUAL ASSAULT/ABUSE
- A Skokie resident reported a sexual assault took place in Brampton, Canada, between January 2007 and January 2019.
- A Skokie resident reported an incident of criminal sexual abuse at 1:40 a.m. on Jan. 12 in the 7400 block of Karlov Avenue.
- A student at Lincoln Junior High reportedly touched girls inappropriately around 1 p.m. on Dec. 13. The incident was reported Jan. 15.
- Chicago police forwarded information on Jan. 14 after an interview led to a report of sexual exploitation of a girl who reported being touched inappropriately by a family member in Skokie.
AGGRAVATED BATTERY
Someone was punched and pepper sprayed in the 3600 block of Touhy Avenue between 1:30 and 6 p.m. on Jan. 11.

ROBBERY
Someone grabbed a female motorist's car keys out of her hand in the 4900 block of Old Orchard Center. The keys were later found and returned to their owner.
STOLEN CARS

- A car rented from the 3200 block of Howard Street on Dec. 17 was reported stolen on Jan. 9 after it was not returned.
- Someone stole a car from the 9500 block of Keeler Avenue between 8 p.m. on Jan. 16 and 6 a.m on Jan. 17.
- A car was stolen from the 4700 block of Washington Street between 7:45 and 8:45 a.m. on Jan. 19.

ARRESTS
Tyler J. Foster, 18, of the 5600 block of West Goodman Street, Chicago, was arrested around 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 6 and charged with possession of between 10 and 30 grams of cannabis and retail theft at the Skokie Walmart, 3626 Touhy Ave
Jerome T. Graham, 33, of the 4200 block of Oakton Street, Skokie, was arrested around 3 a.m. on Jan. 7 in the 3800 block of Estes Avenue and charged with retail theft and battery in connection with an incident the previous day the Skokie Walmart, 3626 W. Touhy Ave.
Jeremiah L. S. Garretson, 21, of the 8300 block of Springfield Avenue, Skokie, was arrested at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 9 at his home and charged with assault.
Paul P. Pratt, 56, of the 4800 block of Old Orchard Road, was arrested at his home at 12:40 a.m. on Jan. 10 and charged with unauthorized videotaping and live video transmission.
David Jones, 35, of the 8200 block of Niles Center Road, Skokie, was arrested at 11:21 p.m. on Jan. 10 in the 8100 block of Niles Center Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Tyrone M. Jackson, 40, of the 13100 block of South Ellis Avenue, Chicago, was arrested at the Skokie Courthouse at 10:50 a.m. on Jan. 11 on a retail theft charge.
Clifford T. Barnes, 52, of the first block of Olcott Street in Manchester, Connecticut, was arrested at 4:11 p.m. on Jan. 11 in the 4800 block of Oakton Street and charged with retail theft from the Old Orchard Apple Store less than an hour earlier.
Dennis O. Elonge, 22, of the 2700 block of Embers Lane, Arlington Heights, and Jeremiah M. McGee, 19, of the 700 block of North Latrobe Avenue, Chicago, were arrested around 7 p.m. on Jan. 11 and charged with trespassing in the 9100 block of Kilbourn Avenue. Michael Karimu, 18, of the 6400 block of North Ridge Boulevard, Chicago, was also arrested in the same incident on an in-state warrant in addition to charges of trespassing and obstructing identification.
Kayla A. Alston, 19, and Kalin L. Alston, 19, both of the 7300 block of South Phillips Street, Chicago, as well as Larry D. Atwood, 18, of the 4000 block of Lake Park Avenue, Chicago, were arrested around 3:45 p.m. on Jan. 12 following an incident at the Old Orchard Macy's, 4909 Old Orchard Road, and each charged with retail theft.
David David, 25, of the 7400 block of Kildare Avenue, Skokie, was arrested around 3 a.m. on Jan. 13 in the 4700 block of Cleveland Street and charged with criminal sexual assault.
Alejandro Barajas, 25, of the 4700 block of Main Street, Skokie, was arrested around 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 14 in the 4400 block of West Touhy Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, fleeing or attempting to elude police, resisting arrest and driving without registration.
Alexander J. Roberts, 21, of the 9000 block of South Laflin Street, Chicago, was arrested around 8:45 a.m. on Jan. 14 in the 4800 block of Dempster Street and charged with armed robbery and domestic battery after reportedly brandishing a knife during a shoplifting incident.
Pratik H. Chokshi, 31, of the 8600 block of Drake Avenue, Skokie, was arrested around 12:45 a.m. on Jan. 15 in the 4900 block of Golf Road on an in-state warrant and charged with driving with a suspended license, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration at or above 0.08.
David Watson, 32, of the 2000 block West Jarvis Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 2 p.m. on Jan. 15 in the 3500 block of Touhy Avenue on a warrant for retail theft.
Randall E. Hurt, 30, of the 3100 block of West Leland Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 3 p.m. on Jan. 15 and charged with retail theft at the Skokie Walmart, 3626 W. Touhy Ave.
Bryan C. Tabares, 27, of the 2800 block of Greenleaf Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 12:15 a.m. on Jan. 16 in the 4000 block of Mulford Street and charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
Alvaro Garcia, 24, of the 2700 block of West Catalpa Avenue, Chicago, and Alfonso J. Martinez, 25, of the 1400 block of West Olive Avenue, Chicago, were charged with armed robbery and aggravated robbery. Martinez, who was also charged with resisting police, battery and driving with a suspended license, was arrested at 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 16 in the 3600 block of Jarvis Avenue and Garcia was arrested around 2:35 p.m. on Jan. 17 at his home.

Fahad F. Shamoon, 41, of the 7900 block of Keystone Avenue, Skokie, was arrested around 3:15 p.m. on Jan. 16 and charged with retail theft at the Skokie Walmart, 3626 W. Touhy Ave.
Paul Burlingame, 30, of Skokie and without a fixed address, was arrested at 10:40 p.m. on Jan. 16 in the 7000 block of West Touhy Avenue and charged with retail theft.
Albert E. Youkhana, 30, of the 5300 block of North Ashland Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 10:15 p.m. on Jan. 17 at the Skokie Police Department and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Fontazia A. Rodriguez, 23, and Majeeda S. Semmons, 41, both of the 1900 block West Norwood Street, Chicago, was arrested at 4:50 p.m. on Jan. 20 and charged with retail theft at the Skokie Walmart, 3626 W. Touhy Ave.
Karin A. McGrier, 58, of the 2300 block of Lee Street, Evanston, was arrested around 11 p.m. on Jan. 20 and charged with retail theft at the Skokie Walmart, 3626 W. Touhy Ave.
Cathelina D. Collins, 40, of the 7700 block of North Paulina Street, Kareyoina Collins, 23, of the 7600 block of North Bosworth Avenue, Chicago, and Daija Hall, 19, of the 7200 block of North Bosworth Avenue, Chicago, were arrested around 7 p.m. on Jan. 21 and charged with retail theft at the Skokie Walmart, 3626 W. Touhy Ave.
