Niles Township Children's Book Collection Drive Begins June 27th

Niles Township is partnering with municipalities and public libraries to collect gently used and new children's books from June 27-August 12

Niles Township is partnering with Bernie’s Book Bank, municipalities and public libraries to collect children’s books June 27- August 12, 2016. The communities are working toward a combined goal of 10,000 books to be collected for at-risk children.

Marilyn D. Glazer, Supervisor of Niles Township observed, “In 2015 we saw an outpouring of generosity and community spirit that helped us exceed our goal. The enthusiasm and grass roots support is what makes this program a success. We hope the community will rally around Bernie’s Book Bank and help more children acquire a love for reading through book ownership.”

Bernie’s Book Bank collects, processes and distributes quality new and gently used children’s books to significantly increase book ownership among at-risk infants, toddlers and school-age children throughout Chicagoland.

Since 1850, Niles Township Government has been dedicated to improving life for its residents. Niles Township is located in the northeast corner of Cook County. With a population of over 105,000 the Township includes the villages of Skokie, Lincolnwood and Golf, and sections of Morton Grove, Niles and Glenview.
