PEER Services provides community-based substance use prevention and treatment services to teens, adults and families in Northern Cook County, including Evanston, Maine, New Trier, Niles and Northfield Townships, and the north side of Chicago. PEER Services reduces the harms of substance use, addiction and stigma by engaging youth and adults with innovative prevention programming and by supporting people on their path to recovery through holistic, evidence-based treatment. We provide affirming services to all in need, regardless of their ability to pay. Cheer for the latest inductees during the Homecoming Halftime Celebration (The Niles West Wolves play the Niles North Vikings at 7 p.m.). The following inductees will be recognized: George Kontos (2003) Baseball; Alisa Kusolvisitkul (2003) Girls Cross Country/Track and Field; Bill Mitz (1972) Football; Blake Lorenz (1973) Baseball; Judy Banathy Flaherty (1982) Girls Basketball; Robert Casey (1974) Boys Soccer/Track and Field; Joe Brennan (Coach) Boys and Girls Soccer; the 1972 Football Team and Dr. Nicholas Mannos (Distinguished Service Award). Introduce our unique sport and program to community members before&nbsp;E-Town&nbsp;Regatta</li></ul></li><li>Sat May 16 - ALL -&nbsp;E-Town&nbsp;Regatta - 12:45-3:30pm @ DRC<ul><li>This is also Senior Night / afternoon!&nbsp;Parent buttons and senior ceremony ~1:30pm @ DRC</li><li>Evanston v Evanston - fun events to celebrate the season.</li><li><a href="https://www.nccrowing.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">NCCR</a>&nbsp;is hosting middle school scrimmage events&nbsp;</li></ul></li></ul>On April 25th, 2026, the Kits traveled up North to take on 38 crews from across the Midwest at the Kingston sprints regatta (Mitten series #2). Taking place at the Kathryn Bennett race course in Milford, Michigan, the KITS were looking to make a statement with regionals coming up in two weeks. All of the hard work every rower put in over a gruesomely sluggish winter was shown, with the Kits putting in their best showing at a regatta in program history.

Like most regattas, the first half of the day is reserved for qualifying. Around 20 crews (average for each event) duel it out for a chance to get A finals (top 8 times). 12 out of the 16 boats ETHS sent out made the top 8 and had the opportunity to fight for a podium spot.

After a quick lunch break, the crews were back at it, and this time it was for all the marbles. The first three final events were the Men's&nbsp;novice 8+, Women's Varsity 8+,&nbsp;and&nbsp;Women's 2nd Varsity 8+. All three boats got on the podium, and the Varsity and Novice crews were able to beat out third to obtain a second-place medal.

On the Varsity Boys side, they gave an impressive showing, specifically from their&nbsp;Varsity 4+, 1st Varsity 8+,&nbsp;and&nbsp;third Varsity 8+.&nbsp;Specifically,&nbsp;the third Varsity 8+&nbsp;had an impressive showing. After barely squeaking into finals with a 7th-place finish, they showed their determination and clawed their way past the other crews, and got a second-place finish. Also,&nbsp;the men's Varsity 8+&nbsp;(1V) were able to beat rivals Northville and Huron to secure the last step on the podium.&nbsp;

“We didn't have a great start in the first race, but in the second race, we really buckled down and got it together. We don't row in a 4 often, so for us to be able to pull out a third is something to be really proud of,” said Captain of Boys Varsity Andrew Newman.&nbsp;
Finally, throughout the day, ETHS picked up several podium finishes: Women's Varsity 2x/2 (2nd place), Men's Varsity 4+ (3rd place), and Women's Novice 8+ (2nd place). Specifically, rowers Cayden Rodgers and Izzy Franconeri were able to pull off Evanston's first 2nd place in a sculling event.
The Kits have a lot to be proud of, and for such a young program, it's only the beginning.&nbsp;&nbsp;
