Featured obituary:

Jane Elizabeth Ingram nee Renghofer, age 91, of Evanston, IL. Beloved wife of the late Emmit A. Ingram, Jr. Loving mother of Larry (Frances) Ingram, Clark Ingram, Karen (Louis) Redmond, Elise (Gary) Olsen, and Kevin Ingram (Cathy Endo). Proud grandmother of Jonathan Ingram; Dylan and Megan Ingram; Colleen Bradham and Elizabeth Redmond; Ryan, Kyle, and Sean Olsen. Cherished great grandmother of Lucas Olsen.

Born to Austrian parents in Bryan, Texas, and raised in College Station, Texas, Jane spent most of her childhood playing piano and helping her parents in their garden. An avid learner, Jane went to grade school and high school in College Station, and then briefly went to Our Lady of the Lake University. Upon her return to College Station, Jane worked for the Architecture Department at Texas A&M University, where she met her future husband, Emmit Ingram. They married and soon moved to Evanston, Illinois where they raised 5 children. Jane was a highly trained Administrative Assistant, briefly working for the Illinois phone company, and in later years working for American Paper Company and Northwestern University.

While raising 5 children, Jane volunteered at St. Athanasius School where she was a room mother, Cub Scout Leader, chaperone for her children's school events, and an assistant in the school library. She was also an excellent piano player and singer where she played the organ at St. Athanasius Church and sang in the church choir as well. Even after her children graduated from school, she continued to play the organ and sing in the choir each and every Sunday. The church and school were an important part of her life. Besides all her volunteer activities, she found time to belong to the Bridge Club through the church. She was an excellent Bridge player, and at one time, belonged to 3 different clubs at once playing long into her later years. She was also an avid reader, instilling in her children the importance of reading. She would make many trips to the Evanston Library, reading a new book every couple of weeks.

Jane was a wonderful mother and grandmother, passing along her many skills, loves and wisdom. All her children played an instrument, sang in choirs or bands, learned how to cook or bake her wonderful dishes and shared her good sense of humor. These were all passed on to her grandchildren, as well. She would teach the grandchildren songs, play piano with them, tell jokes, cook and bake. Jane's legacy as a loving matriarch to the family she devotedly cared for will live on through the generations of her family line for years to come.
