Leonard Sherman, 98.

Beloved husband of the late Diane Sherman nee Natovich. Loving father of Mimi Sherman and David (Dr. Susie) Sherman. Grandfather of Jason, Adam and Josh Kaplan and Ned, Gordie and Adeline Rohrbach and Jacob and Eli Sherman.

Leonard was a successful businessman, entrepreneur and philanthropist whose real estate business, Benj. E. Sherman & Sons, based in Chicago, will celebrate its 100th anniversary in March.

He proudly served both in the US Army during WWII in the South Pacific and also in the Israel War of Independence in ’47 and ’48.

Among his philanthropic work of which he was most proud was serving as the General Chairman of the Jewish United Fund (JUF) and as President and Chairman of the Board of the American Technion Society
