Featured Obituary:

Eleni Stacy Camino (Lanie), 77, of Lake Forest died on June 3, 2017 at home in Lake Forest. Born August 8, 1939 to Dorothy Georges and Constantine Stacy in Milwaukee, Lanie graduated from Downer High School and Lake Forest College. Eleni taught elementary school in Milwaukee, where she met her husband of 52 years, Michael R. Camino, on a blind date.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Peter (Doris) Stacy and is survived by her loving husband and daughters Jennifer (Chapin) Mower, Courtney (Charles) Petit and Stephanie (Nate) Wolverton and her adored grandhildren Trevor, Caroline, Victoria, Alexandra and Elizabeth, and sister Vivian (Michael) Eacarrino.

Eleni had a passion for interior design and served on the Board of the Lake Forest Chapter of Infant Welfare Society of Chicago for over 45 years. As a past president, she was instrumental in creating the Bi-annual Showhouse & Gardens. Eleni also served on the boards of the Junior Garden Club of Lake Forest and the Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital Women’s Board. Her interest in collecting vintage and fine antiques led her to start a small business selling her finds in antique shops over 12 years ago. Of all her roles, Eleni’s favorite were Nanie to her grandchildren, mom, wife and fond aunt.

A private inurnment has been held. There will be a celebration of Eleni’s life on Friday, June 9th at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Lake Forest.
