Daniel Moy Chin, 76, born March 8, 1938, passed away peacefully in his Skokie home on Tuesday, December 30, 2014. Born in the Toishan District, Guangdong Province in China, he immigrated to Wilmette, IL in 1949 and was a 65 year resident. He owned and ran several businesses in the hospitality industry and retired in 2000. Son of the late Moy Tun and Sue Lon Chin; survived by beloved wife Patti Chin; loving father of Lisa (Lance) Peters, Daniel Chin and Julie (Benjamin) Browning; proud grandfather of Brandon Chin, Justin Chin, Lakin Peters and Layna Peters; dear brother of Lau Ping (Woo Ying) Liu, the late Pui Ha (Chung Ming) Chan, Shiu Yin (Keng) Chan, Tom (Joyce) Chin and Pamela (Richard) Voigt. Additionally, he will be missed by many extended family members who cared about him greatly.
Visitation Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Donnellan Family Funeral Home, 10045 Skokie Boulevard, Skokie, IL 60077. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Donnellan Family Funeral Home. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery, 9900 Gross Point Road, Skokie, IL 60076.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Grace Chinese Christian Church at 5200 Church Street, Skokie, IL 60077 or to Midwest Palliative & Hospice Care Center at 2050 Claire Court, Glenview, IL 60025.
