Plates and Shifting Paradigms: Geology's Journey to Discover Plate Tectonics

This talk will focus on the imaginative and sometimes ingenious ways scientists set out to test the continental drift hypothesis . . .

On November 29th, geologist Kris Huysken, an Associate Professor at the University of Indiana Northwest, will describe the plate tectonics theory which is the first comprehensive model of Earth’s internal workings. This talk will focus on the imaginative and sometimes ingenious ways scientists set out to test the continental drift hypothesis, the idea that the continents move about the face of the planet, and the evidence that turned the controversial continental drift hypothesis into the plate tectonic paradigm.

Please join us for Coffee Hour after the talk. All are welcome to our EHS Sunday programs, which are free and open to the public, and childcare is available.
