Man Shot On Oakton Street In Skokie

A 24-year-old man was shot and a business was damaged Tuesday afternoon, police said.

SKOKIE, IL — Police are investigating a shooting that took place Tuesday afternoon in Skokie. Around 4:15 p.m. police were called to the area of Oakton Street and Kolmar Avenue, according to Skokie police. They found a 24-year-old man who had been shot.

Skokie Fire Department personnel took him to a local hospital for treatment, and he is expected to survive. Police said a local business was damaged as a result of the incident and declined to offer further details. Oakton Street was reopened around 9 p.m.
