@properties Broker Steve Katz To Be Featured on HGTV's House Hunters

Steve Katz, a realtor with Chicago-based @properties, will be featured in an upcoming episode of “House Hunters,” a reality TV show on Home & Garden TV. The episode will air on HGTV on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 9PM CST.

“House Hunters” follows the story of a family of homeowners looking for a home in a specific neighborhood and price range. A Realtor shows the couple three homes in their preferred area and explains the advantages and drawbacks of each home. “House Hunters” has filmed for 13 seasons but has featured only a handful of homebuyers from Chicago.

Katz represented first-time homebuyers Dave Schmid and Sarah-Jayne Ashenhurs, who auditioned for the show. In the episode, Katz will show his clients – who are moving from an apartment in downtown Chicago – three single-family homes in the city and northern suburbs of Chicago.

“This show was a great opportunity to showcase Chicago’s North Side neighborhoods to a wider audience on HGTV,” said Katz. “I’m also happy the family I worked with was able to select a comfortable home within their price range and preferred area. This process confirmed what I suspected all along, that my process really works for my buyers. I educate and advise clients on how to manage tradeoffs. I empower my clients’ decision making. And in the end, it worked and Dave and Sarah-Jayne found their dream home.”
