Skokie Police Blotter: Nov. 10 - Nov. 16

SKOKIE, IL — The following information comes from the Skokie Police Department as a record of those recently arrested. Readers are reminded an arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges represent merely accusations that are often dropped or reduced. All persons named are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
THEFT
A lost iPad was reported stolen from Old Orchard Junior High on Nov. 9 at 12:31 p.m. The item was lost around noon on Oct. 20.

ASSAULT/DISORDERLY CONDUCT
An assault and disorderly conduct was reported in the 5000 block of Dempster Street on Nov. 9 shortly after 12:30 p.m.
MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT
There was a burglary to a motor vehicle and a motor vehicle theft reported in the 5000 block of Old Orchard Road between 12:06 and 1 p.m.

THEFT
Two suspects reportedly stole items from the Marshalls in the 9400 block of Skokie Boulevard on Nov 9 between 1:45 and 1:59 p.m.
DECEPTIVE PRACTICES
Someone called a resident of the 8900 block of Bronx Avenue between on Nov. 9 8:30 a.m. and 3:29 p.m. and claimed to be the IRS.
RETAIL THEFT
Two juveniles were arrested for allegedly shoplifting from Walmart around 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 9.
STOLEN CAR
A rental car was reported stolen from Enterprise Rental Car in the 8200 block of Skokie Boulevard on Nov. 10 at 10:15 a.m.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
Someone used force to enter a home and steal cash and jewelry from the 8100 block of Hamlin Avenue on Nov. 10 between 7:38 and 7:45 p.m.
THEFT
Someone stole two Illinois license plates from a garage in the 9100 block of East Prairie Road between 4 and 9 pm. on Nov. 10.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
An attempted burglary was reported at a home in the 4400 block of Wilson Terrace between Nov. 9 at noon and Nov. 11 at 8 a.m.
BATTERY
An aggravated battery to a senior citizen was reported in the 8600 block of Skokie Boulevard, as someone beat a man with a gym shoe on Nov. 8.
ARMED ROBBERY
Police said an armed robbery was reported on Nov. 13 around around 10:45 p.m. in the 4900 block of Dempster Street.
ARRESTS
Tracy Sheryl Williams, 42, of the 2100 block of Foster Street, was arrested Nov. 10 at 2:07 p.m. at Walmart, 3626 Touhy Ave., and charged with retail theft.
Giovanni L. Renteria, 27, of the 4200 block of 11st Street, Winthrop Harbor, was arrested Nov. 12 at 7 a.m. in the 3300 block of Crain Street and charged with violation of an order of protection and resisting an officer.
Neal E. Benjamin, 29, of the 300 block of Callan Avenue, Evanston, was arrested in the 2400 block of Oakton Avenue on Nov. 13 at 12:06 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with 0.08 without a license. He was also charged with driving more than 35 mph over the speed limit.
A 19-year-old Skokie man was arrested on Nov. 14 at 11:30 a.m. at the Skokie Police Department and charged with criminal trespassing. (No photograph available.)
Merrill Richard Truax, 42, of the 9200 block of Forestview Road, Evanston, was arrested Nov. 14 at 12:29 a.m. in the 9100 block of McCormick Boulevard and charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol concentration more than 0.08.
Patrick K. Martinez, 45, of the 16400 block of Fox Creek Lane, Plainfield, was arrested Nov. 14 at 1:37 p.m. in the 3900 block of Touhy Avenue on an in-state warrant. (No photograph available.)
Christopher K. Baker, 31, of the 2700 block of West Harrison Street, was arrested Nov. 14 at 4:33 p.m. in the 4900 block of Dempster Street and charged with retail theft.
Rafael Lopez, 29, of the 1200 block of North Hamlin Avenue, Chicago, was arrested on Nov. 14 at 6:13 p.m. in the 4800 block of Golf Road and charged with theft.
Jessica Lauren Goodman, 28, of the 8900 block of Lavergne Avenue, was arrested Nov. 15 at 9:45 a.m. and charged with retail theft at the Target, 4955 Dempster St.
Elisabeth Grace Frau, 24, of the 6600 block of North Glenwood Street, Chicago, was arrested Nov. 16 at 12:16 am. in the 5000 block of Oakton Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia.
