Niles Resident Celebrates 107th Birthday
Max Fabian was a longtime employee of A-Z Wire & Cable Company in Northbrook.
Niles resident Max Fabian, a longtime former employee of A-Z Wire & Cable Company in Northbrook, celebrated his 107th birthday recently at a luncheon hosted by his former employee at Rosebud Restaurant in Deerfield.
"Max has been part of the Anixter family for fifty- three years when he was hired by my grandfather. He stayed on and worked for my dad, Alan, and uncle, Bill Anixter at Anixter Bros. Inc.,and then he went to work for me and my family at A-Z Wire & Cable--the third and fourth generations of Anixters in the cable business," said Jim Anixter, presizent of A-Z and a longtime friend of Fabian’s. “We gave him a Cubbie blue T-shirt with the Cubs emblem on the front and his name and "107" on the back.”
“It was great fun being with Max, who incidentally other than a hearing problem, is "sharp as a tack" and everyone in the family had a lot of laughs.”
