Second Saturday Coffeehouse: Franz Schubert: A Wanderer's Guitar

On November 14th, Second Saturday Coffeehouse presents a classical CD release party and concert: “Franz Schubert: A Wanderer’s Guitar”; a recording collaboration between world-class, Chicago-based artists Ryan de Ryke and Brandon J. Acker.

This unique, extraordinary pairing explores the once common 19th century practice in Vienna of performing Schubert Lieder with guitar instead of piano. The intimacy of this listening room invokes the ideal atmosphere for this project, inspired by European salon culture of the 18th and 19th centuries.

The venue compliments perfectly the dynamic performances for which Ryan and Brandon have garnered great acclaim, removing all barriers between audience and artist.
