Shore Community Services Hires New CEO

India Alexis Ehioba, MNA, CFRE brings a wealth of experience to Shore

The Board of Directors of Shore Community Services, Inc. a non-profit organization providing services to over 400 children and adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities, is pleased to announce the hiring of India Alexis Ehioba, MNA, CFRE, as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). India started in late September and will be primarily responsible for overseeing the agency’s over $5,600,000 budget and staff of over 100. A strong focus will be on diversifying the agency’s fundraising efforts and accounting.

Natalie Romano, President of Shore’s Board of Directors, stated “I could sense India’s sincerity and enthusiasm from our first telephone call. She is a wonderful addition to our team!”

India joins Shore Community Services with over 18 years of executive leadership experience in organizations serving individuals with disabilities. Her expertise spans all aspects of Nonprofit Administration including: finance, strategic planning, program management, nonprofit governance and has extensive experience and success in fundraising garnering major and more complex donor gifts like legacies and bequests.

In addition to her work experience, India holds the highest academic credentials with a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communications from The Ohio State University and a Masters in Nonprofit Administration from North Park University as well as graduate certificates in Nonprofit Governance and Fundraising Management. She also holds the highly regarded Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation.

India is active in the professional community and currently serves on the advisory board for North Park University School of Business and Nonprofit Administration and the governing board of Suburban Chicago Planned Giving Council (SCPGC). She is also a member of the Chicago Council of Planned Giving; Association of Fundraising Professionals, and the Scholarship Committee of Life Happens, which is a non-profit organization providing scholarships to children who have lost one or both of their parents.

On a personal note, India has recently taken up playing golf. She is an avid fan and supporter of all of the arts, and enjoys attending classical music concerts, stage plays, and exhibits at all of Chicagoland’s museums. India is also active in her church where she teaches a Sunday school class for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

India and her husband, Dr. Robson Ehioba, have five adult children (4 are college graduates with the youngest a Junior at Illinois State University) and reside in Naperville.
