Skokie To Celebrate 4th of July With Parade, Fireworks

From a parade featuring a “Chicago Fire” co-star to a spectacular, 3-D fireworks display at dusk, the village of Skokie has quite a bit in store for the 4th of July this year.

The celebration will begin with the annual Skokie Fourth of July Parade at noon. Following a route from Oakton Community College, onto Oakton Street and concluding at Oakton Park, the parade will see its first Grand Marshal, actor Christian Stolte of the hit drama. Roger Badesch from WGN will serve as the reviewing stand announcer.

Sponsored by the Village of Skokie and the Skokie Park District, the parade will be followed by an evening of festivities at Niles West High School, with musical entertainment set to begin at 6 p.m. and the fireworks ending the night at dusk.
