Skokie Farmers' Market Grand Opening This Sunday
Drawing farmers from five states and thousands of visitors, the Skokie Farmers' Market runs weekly from June to November.

SKOKIE, IL — There's less than a week to go before the start of the farmers' market season. Kicking off June 11 and running every Sunday morning through Nov. 5 in the parking lot of the Skokie Village Hall and Public Library, the popular Skokie Farmers Market has been held every summer for more than a quarter century. The market hosts more than 4,000 visitors every year and attracts farmers from throughout the state, as well as Wisconsin, Indiana and Michigan, according to the Village of Skokie.
Two farms, R&B Miller Farms and Noffke Farms, both of Coloma, Michigan have been coming to the market since it first opened with just a dozen vendors 42 years ago, and some children of other original vendors continue to take part in the market.
The Skokie Farmers Market features about two dozen vendors ever week and offers a broad selection of seasonal fruits and vegetables for sale by the bushel, the pound or per piece. The market also includes a cheesemonger, a wide array of spices, herbs, sauces and three local bakeries.
