Skokie Rotary Honored for 80 Years of Community Service
Village of Skokie's Mayor Makes Proclamation

The Rotary Club of Skokie Valley was honored for 80 years of community service at last night's Village of Skokie Board meeting.
Mayor George Van Dusen read the Village's proclamation which highlighted Rotary International's and Rotary Club of Skokie Valley's efforts to eradicate polio worldwide.
Skokie Rotary Club President, Ralph Klein wearing two hats as a Village Trustee too, thanked Mayor Van Dusen and talked briefly about Rotary's motto of "Service Above Self".

During the Mayor's proclamation, he mentioned that when the Skokie Rotary was formed in 1939, two current members had strong ties to the early club. Rotarian John Haben's grandfather and Rotarian Neil King Father's were both foundering members in 1939.
