SKOKIE, IL — The following information comes from the Skokie Police Department as a record of those recently arrested. Readers are reminded an arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges represent merely accusations that are often dropped or reduced. All persons named are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

THEFT

Three women or girls stole about $1,608 worth of merchandise from the Victoria's Secret at Old Orchard Shopping Center around 4:27 p.m. on Oct. 12
AGGRAVATED BATTERY

Someone reportedly battered a senior citizen in the 4000 block of Oakton Street around 7:17 p.m. on Oct. 14.
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT, BATTERY, UNLAWFUL USE OF WEAPONS
A known suspect reportedly assaulted and battered six people in the 8600 block of Keeler Avenue around 6:06 p.m. on Oct. 15. Police said the incident was reported as a fight or disturbance. There have been no arrests made and the case has been cleared due to no charges being filed.
FORGERY
Someone reportedly forged prescription slips and illegally obtained drugs at the Walgreens at 4895 Dempster Street between Oct. 13 and Oct. 16.
ARRESTS
Reginald J. Crawford, 29, of the 3600 block of West Grenshaw Street, Chicago, was arrested Oct. 12 at 9:30 a.m. in the 10000 block of Ohare Avenue and charged with forgery and burglary.

Muharem Omeralovic, 65, of the 7300 block of North Tripp Avenue in Lincolnwood, was arrested Oct. 13 at 7:30 a.m. at the Skokie Police Department, 7300 Niles Center Rd., and charged with harassment through electronic communication.

Victor Manuel Contreras, 28, of the 4800 block of Elm Street, Skokie, was arrested Oct. 13 at 7:47 a.m. in the 7300 block of McCormick Boulevard and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.


James A. Schutz, 63, of the 5800 block of Washington Street, Morton Grove, was arrested Oct. 15 at 12:32 a.m. in the 4700 block of Howard Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Elmo S. Hatfield, 48, of the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue, Evanston, was arrested Oct. 15 at 11:17 p.m. in the 3200 block of Main Street and charged with two counts of retail theft.

Djorgy M. Leroy, 50, of the 2000 block of Ridge Avenue, was arrested Oct. 16 at 1:38 p.m. in the 3300 block of Golf Road and charged with retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Miriam Stephanie Lujan, 20, of the 300 block of Alder Lane, Glen Ellyn, was arrested Oct. 17 at 3:27 p.m. in the 9400 block of Kenton Avenue and charged with retail theft. (No photograph available.)
John L. Galloway, 23, also of 300 block of Alder Lane, Glen Ellyn, was arrested Oct. 17 at 4:05 p.m. in the 9400 block of Kenton Avenue on an active in-state warrant. (No photograph available.)
Pratik H. Chokshi, 30, of the 8600 block of Drake Avenue, was arrested Oct. 18 at 10:15 p.m. at the Skokie Police Department on an active in-state warrant.

Eugene G. Toy, 81, of the 5400 block of Suffield Terrace, was arrested Oct. 19 at 4:11 p.m. in the 5100 block of Church Street and charged with illegal dumping. (No photograph available.)
