Woman Punched Over Parking At Old Orchard Lot: Skokie Reports

SKOKIE, IL — The following information comes from the Skokie Police Department as a record of those recently arrested. Readers are reminded an arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges represent merely accusations that are often dropped or reduced. All persons named are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
THEFT

All four wheels from a vehicle parked in the 8100 block of Knox Avenue were stolen around 5:38 a.m. on Oct. 5.

A resident in the 9700 block of Woods Drive reportedly lost $10,200 in an "online telephone scam" on Oct. 2 and 3.
CAR THEFT
A car left parked in the street unlocked with the windows down and the keys inside between 3 p.m. on Oct. 4 and 9 a.m. on Oct. 5 in the 8100 block of Lorel Avenue was reported stolen.
RETAIL THEFT
Someone took a bottle of alcohol and ran out of the CVS store in the 3400 block of Dempster Street.
CAR BURGLARY
Someone got into multiple commercial vehicles in the 4900 block of Main Street by punching a hole in their locks between 6:15 p.m. on Oct. 6 and 6:45 p.m. on Oct. 6. A cordless power tool kit and a total of $1,500 worth of power tools were reported stolen.
BATTERY
A customer in a taxicab reported she had been battered by a cab driver around 7:43 p.m. Complaints were not signed due to conflicting statements, police said.
ARMED ROBBERY
A man wearing a mask and a hood attempted to rob the AJ Mart in the 4600 block of Church Street with what appeared to be a toy gun. Nothing was taken and the robber ran away.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
Someone entered a residence in the 4700 block of Cleveland Street between 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 7 and 12:15 a.m. on Oct. 8 through a west side window. Every room in the house was ransacked and jewelry and purses were reported stolen.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone flattened all four tires of a car parked in the 9000 block of Keating Avenue. They also knocked off both side mirrors and poured sugar in the gas tank.
BATTERY
A parking spot dispute at Old Orchard Mall between two motorists escalated to the point that a man hit a woman in the face with a closed fist around 12:45 p.m. on Oct. 8.
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
A resident in the 4900 block of Crain Street reported that around 4:49 p.m., an attacker held a steak knife to the stomach of the caller, saying "I'm going to kill you."
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY
Someone tried to pry open the drive thru window of the Burger King in the 3800 block of Dempster Street to get in between midnight and 5 a.m. on Oct. 9.
CAR THEFT
Someone stole a vehicle that had been parked in the 8700 block of Crawford Avenue between 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 8 and 7:15 a.m. on Oct. 9 after someone had been able to find a hidden spare key inside another family member's car.
CAR BURGLARY
A Jupiter baritone horn was taken from inside a parked vehicle in the 1000 block of Cherry Parkway between 8 p.m. on Oct. 9 and 7:40 a.m. on Oct. 10.
BATTERY
An angry customer at a restaurant in the 4800 block of Dempster Street threw food at an employee because it "took too long to prepare."
THEFT
A wallet was stolen when a person walked away with a shopper's cart in the 3600 block of Touhy Avenue around 7 p.m. on Oct. 10.
THEFT
A cell phone was stolen at Old Orchard Center between 8:50 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. on Oct. 10.
ARRESTS
Isiah D. Moseley, 18, of the 8100 block of South Exchange Avenue, Chicago, was arrested on Oct. 5 at 9 a.m. at the Cook County Criminal Courthouse and charged with retail theft, aggravated assault and battery.

Garry P. Young, 38, of the 7500 block of North Winchester Avenue, Chicago, was arrested Oct. 5 at 8:05 p.m. in the 9000 block of Bronx Avenue and charged with obstruction of justice and retail theft.


Daniel J. Lasalle, 20, of the 7900 block of Crawford Avenue, was arrested Oct. 8 at 1:35 a.m. in the 8500 block of Central Park Avenue and charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol concentration above 0.08.

Scott C. Selby, 33, of the 400 block of Kenilworth Avenue, Glen Ellyn, was arrested Oct. 8 at 1:04 p.m. in the 3300 block of Touhy Avenue and charged with retail theft.

Robert Berezin, 79, of the 3800 block of Sugar Loaf Lane, was arrested Oct. 8 at 2:30 p.m. in the 9400 block of Skokie Boulevard and charged with battery. (No photograph available.)
Kevin D. Nou, 25, of the 7500 block of East Prairie Road, was arrested Oct. 9 at 9:58 p.m. in the 3900 block of Howard Street and charged with possession of a controlled substance.


Andrew Scott Sleaper, 23, of the 300 block of Mather Street in Green Bay, Wisconsin, was arrested Oct. 11 at 9:56 p.m. in the 5500 block of Touhy Avenue and charged with theft of labor or services. (No photograph available.)
Janice Stockton, 44, of the 8200 block of Keating Avenue, Skokie, was arrested Oct. 12 at 3:40 a.m. in the 4500 block of Oakton Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration above 0.08 and illegal transportation of alcohol.

Reginald J. Crawford, 29, of the 3600 block of West Grenshaw Street, Chicago, was arrested Oct. 12 at 9:30 a.m. in the 10000 block of Ohare Avenue and charged with forgery and burglary. (No photograph available.)
