Jamison went public with her own struggle with bipolar disorder in 1995 and has become a trusted advocate for the millions who suffer from mental illness following the release of her book "An Unquiet Mind: A Memoir of Moods and Madness."
Jamison's subsequent book, "Touched with Fire: Manic-Depressive Illness and the Artistic Temperament," inspired the 2016 movie, "Touched with Fire," starring Katie Holmes.
