?VIVA COMING TOGETHER! Opening Ceremony on January 31

Coming Together in Skokie & Niles Township Celebrates Latino and Hispanic Cultures in 2016

Join us for the ¡VIVA! COMING TOGETHER Opening Ceremony celebrating the Latino & Hispanic cultures, on Sunday, January 31, 2016. Events begin at 1 p.m. at Niles West High School, 5701 Oakton, Skokie. There is an art exhibition featuring the work of Alfonso ”Piloto” Nieves Ruiz. Refreshments will be provided by 90 Miles Cuban Cafe, El Fuego, Monastero’s Ristorante & Banquets, Holiday Inn Chicago North Shore, and Costco. Bring a book to participate in the Book Exchange by Open Books.

Lourdes Duarte of WGN-TV is the Master of Ceremonies for the event. The program includes musical performances by AfríCaríbe, theatrical readings, a dance performance by Ballet Folklorico: Cinco de Mayo de Juan Reynoso, student performances, and more.

¡Viva! Coming Together offers over 50 other programs going on in Niles Township over the course of the following 8 weeks. Programs are scheduled in your libraries, community college, Skokie Village Hall, Niles Township High Schools and other local schools, Park Districts and local businesses.
