Water Main Repair Closes Main Street in Skokie

A water main on westbound Main Street between Niles Center Road and LeClaire Avenue is being repaired today - Thursday, July 9.

While the work is being completed by the Skokie Public Works Department, westbound Main Street will be closed at Niles Center Road.

At Niles Center Road, traffic will be detoured north to Terminal Avenue to Elm Street, west to LeClaire Avenue and back to Main Street.

The village is encouraging motorists to avoid this area and seek alternate routes.

Repairs and temporary roadway restoration is expected to be completed by the end of the day.
