What Made Kids Sick at Washington Elementary Still a Mystery

Students and faculty came down with an ailment that caused vomiting and diarrhea. Keep your kid home if he or she is still ill.

Washington Elementary School was cleaned and sanitized over the weekend after a large number of students and faculty fell ill, but health officials have been unable to determine what made them sick. Kids and teachers were vomiting and suffered diarrhea, the Chicago Tribune reports, citing a memo distributed Tuesday by Evanston-Skokie District 65.

School and city health officials are continuing to gather information to investigate the sickness, which was limited to this school. If your child was sick, the district call 311 or 847-448-4311 and respond to a questionnaire.
