12-Year-Old Girl Shot Playing On Sidewalk In West Englewood: Cops
Chicago police said a white SUV drove by and started shooting, when the girl felt pain.
CHICAGO (SOUTH SIDE) — A 12-year-old girl was shot while playing outside on the sidewalk early Thursday morning in Chicago’s West Englewood neighborhood, according to a police notification.
Chicago police were called to the 6800 block of South Wolcott Avenue around 1:15 a.m. A witness told police that a white SUV drove by and shots were fired from the vehicle. The girl said she immediately felt pain.
The girl suffered a gunshot wound to her lower back and was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where she is listed in good condition.

No arrests have been made. Chicago Police Area 1 detectives are investigating.
