28-Year-Old Man Fatally Shot In South Shore Sitting In Parked Car

The man's father told police his son was helping a woman with her Uber Eats orders when he was shot.

CHICAGO — A 28-year-old man was fatally shot while sitting in a parked in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood early Friday morning.

The shooting happened at 1:17 a.m. in the 2500 block of east 79th Street. The man and a 30-year-old woman were sitting in the car when shots rang out. Chicago police said the man suffered a gunshot wound in the back. The woman drove them both to South Shore hospital, despite being shot in the leg, where the man was pronounced dead. She is listed in good condition.

The man’s father told WGN that his son was helping the woman with her Uber Eats orders.

No one is in custody. CPD Area Two detectives are investigating.
