CHICAGO — The office of 34th Ward Ald. Carrie Austin was raided by federal law enforcement officers Wednesday morning. FBI agents executed a search warrant at Austin's office at 111th and Normal in the West Roseland neighborhood, the Chicago Sun-Times first reported.

The 34th Ward covers parts of the West Pullman, Washington Heights, Morgan Park and Roseland neighborhoods of the Far South Side.

Austin is the second-longest serving alderman in the city of Chicago and the latest Chicago politician who appears to have been targeted in a federal investigation. The city's longest serving alderman, Ed Burke, was indicted on political corruption charges earlier this year.
