Residents will receive a $100 Visa gift card for each unwanted gun turned in Saturday, June 8, at Compassionate Baptist Church.
CHICAGO — Chicagoans can turn in their unwanted guns this Saturday, June 8, in exchange for a prepaid $100 Visa gift card, or $10 for a replica gun. Guns and replica guns can be turned in from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Compassion Baptist Church, 2650 E 95th St., in the Calumet Heights neighborhood.
Chicago police frequently hold gun turn-in events around the city to give people a chance to safely discard unwanted, old or broken guns. This is a NO QUESTIONS asked event.
“The most important thing is that we get the gun off the streets,” Chicago police said. “No one will ask any questions about you or the gun. You will not have to provide any personal information.”
