Dog Shot By Police During Attack On 68-Year Old Woman
A woman was seriously wounded after two pit bulls attacked her on Chicago's South Side.

CHICAGO, IL — Two dogs attacked a 68-year-old woman on the city's South Side Monday night, according to multiple media reports. The woman was mauled in the 6500 block of South Evans Avenue in the West Woodlawn neighborhood before a police officer shot one of the two dogs involved.
A witness told NBC-Chicago that he began throwing bricks at the dogs, who were reportedly pit bulls, before police arrived. He said one of the dogs began attacking police before the shot was fired.
The same witness said in a WGN report that he thought about trying to hit the dogs with his car but was worried about hurting the woman while he did.
