Family of Man Shot By Police Sues Cops

Paul O'Neal was a motor vehicle theft suspect when he was killed by police in South Shore last week.

CHICAGO, IL - The family of the 18-year-old shot and killed by police last week in the South Shore neighborhood is suing the three unnamed officers who have been stripped of their police powers as a result of the incident.

Paul O’Neal was a suspect in a vehicle theft near 73rd and Merrill last Thursday when he was effectively “executed” by the officers, attorneys for the family told CBS and other media outlets on Monday.

“These police officers decided, for whatever reason, they were going to play judge jury and executioner.”
