Fugitive Shoots Self, Ending 9-Hour Roseland Standoff: REPORTS
The fugitive was the subject of a national warrant for shooting his ex-girlfriend and two children in Matteson, news reports say.
CHICAGO — A man wanted in a nationwide manhunt is believed to have shot himself after an hours long standoff in the Roseland neighborhood, news reports said.
Lander Coleman, 43, was on the run since May 18 allegedly for shooting his ex-girlfriend and two children in Matteson. The woman reportedly had a restraining order against him.
The standoff unfolded late Thursday evening near 95th Street and Perry Avenue. The FBI moved in to assist Matteson police, who feared Coleman might be trying to leave the Chicago area after a national warrant was issued for his arrest.
