Joliet Man Identified, Charged As 'CTA Subway Pusher': Chicago Police
A Joliet man faces a felony battery charge for pushing a 26-year-old man off the CTA platform.

CHICAGO — A Joliet man was arrested after he was identified as the person who pushed a 26-year-old man off a CTA platform on to the Blue Line tracks earlier this month, according to officials. He was taken into custody Monday near 26th and California, Chicago police said.
James Stamps, 28, of the 200 block of West Madison Street in Joliet is charged with one felony count of aggravated battery in a public place.
On Aug. 5, Chicago police released disturbing video of a man, since identified as Stamps, crossing paths with the 26-year-old man and then shoving him off the platform in the 400 block of South Damen Avenue. The man was OK.

Police arrested Stamps near 26th Street and California. Stamps will appear at the Leighton Criminal Courts Building for a bond hearing Tuesday afternoon.
