CHICAGO — Chicago Working Families are accepting applications to march in the Archer Avenue St. Patrick’s Day Parade through Garfield Ridge. The parade steps off at noon Saturday, March 16.

This is Chicago’s longest running community St. Patrick’s Day Parade and a beloved tradition on the South Side. The parade route runs down Archer Avenue east from Oak Park Avenue to Narragansett Avenue. The deadline for sponsorships and applications to participate in the parade is Feb. 23.

The 2024 Honorary Grand Marshal will be fallen Chicago Police Officer. Andres Vasquez Lasso. The police officer was killed in the line of duty March 1, 2023 responding to a domestic call in Gage Park.

The parade features floats, churches, youth sports teams, scouts, businesses, community groups and labor organizations.

Organizers are seeking parade sponsors at the following levels:

  • $2,500 Horseshoe Sponsor
  • $1,000 Green & Gold Sponsor
  • $250 Leprechaun Sponsor

There is no entry fee for schools, scout troops, youth sports teams, churches, community organizations and nonprofits to march in the parade. Return applications with payment (if applicable) by Feb. 23 to:

Proceeds will benefit the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation’s Get Behind the Vest Program that purchases and replaces bulletproof vests for Chicago police officers.
