Skeletal Remains Found In Beaubien Woods: Officials
A member of the public found the remains Tuesday morning near Doty Avenue and 130th Street, Forest Preserves police said.
CHICAGO — Skeletal remains were found Tuesday morning in a Cook County forest preserve on Chicago’s Far South Side. Officials have described the remains human.
The remains were found around 10 a.m. by a member of the public visiting the Beaubien Woods, approximately 50 feet into the woods from South Doty Avenue, a forest preserves official told Patch.
Forest Preserves police are leading the death investigation. The scene was processed by investigators from the Cook County Sheriff’s Office. The remains have been sent to the Cook County Medical Examiner to determine identification and cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.
