CHICAGO — The Southwest Side’s first dog park will celebrate its grand opening Saturday, June 10 in Garfield Ridge. Ald. Marty Quinn (13th) and Rep. Angie Guerrero-Cuellar (22nd District), along with Chicago Park District and community representatives will cut the ribbon at 9:30 a.m. at Wentwoof Park, inside Wentworth Park, 5600 S. Narragansett, Chicago.
The 6,050-square-foot dog park gives Southwest Side residents a gated space where their dogs can run, play and sniff freely and safely off leash. Wentwoof Park boasts a water feature and coated asphalt. Under consideration for the future is an obedience training area and separate areas for big and small dogs.
Wentwoof will be open daily from 6 a.m. to dusk.
