Turn In Your Guns At Baptist Church Saturday

CHICAGO, IL - There's a gun turn-in event planned by the Chicago Police Department on Saturday at a church on the South Side. Members of the community who turn in a gun will receive a $100 gift card in an event sponsored by Chicago CRED, an affiliate of the Emerson Collective that partners with community organizations in the city's Roseland and Lawndale neighborhoods.

Volunteers will join police in collecting the guns at Lilydale Progressive Baptist Church, 10706 S. Michigan Ave. in Roseland from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Those who turn in assault weapons will receive $200 gift cards. A $50 gift certificate for groceries will be given to anyone who turns in a weapon no questions asked, according to police.
