Woman Found In Roseland Home With Facial Trauma Dies

The woman who was found with severe facial trauma in a 115th Street home has been identified as 60-year-old Doris Moore.

CHICAGO — A 60-year-old woman who was found with facial trauma in a Roseland neighborhood home Monday night did not survive. Chicago police say the victim was found with "extensive trauma to the face" around 7:35 p.m. in the 300 block of West 115th Street.

The victim has been identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as Doris Moore, who had a listed address in the same block in which she was found. Moore was pronounced shortly after she was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

Family members found her in the home before police were called, WGN reports. The case is being investigated as a homicide. A ruling on the cause and manner of death had not yet been determined by noon on Tuesday.

Area South detectives are investigating the case. No one has been charged as of Tuesday afternoon.
