• Nonprofit to pay year of living expenses for family of fallen Staunton police officer (kmov.com) — A Staunton police officer’s family will have their living expenses covered for a full year by Brett’s First Responders, a St. Louis-area nonprofit created to support families of off-duty fallen first responders. The aid follows the Sept. 12 motorcycle death of officer Ethan Hoese, who leaves behind a fiancée and 11-month-old daughter, and aims to ease financial strain while they grieve.
