2 Die In 3-Vehicle Crash Near Bartlett: Police
A westbound driver who was passing traffic in the eastbound lanes hit a Jeep head-on, according to the DuPage County Sheriff's Office.

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — Two people died in connection with a three-vehicle crash Tuesday in DuPage County near Bartlett, according to police.
The incident occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Army Trail Road east of Petersdorf Road, the DuPage County Sheriff's Office reported. Jakub Lulek, 28, of Carol Stream, was speeding west on Army Trail Road in a Hyundai, repeatedly passing traffic using the eastbound lanes, according to police, who said he struck a Jeep head-on that was driven by Gloria Suarez Urquiza, 47, of Hanover Park.
Lulek was killed on impact and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Suarez Urquiza died after being flown to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, according to police. The driver of a second vehicle struck by Lulek did not suffer any injuries, police said.

Authorities do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, according to police. A section of Army Trail Road was closed until almost midnight.
