There will be two active shooter presentations held this month in St. Charles.
ST. CHARLES, IL — Two active shooter presentations are planned for this month in St. Charles. Lt. Kevin Williams will lead the presentations on Oct. 15 and 24, which are meant to teach the public how to survive "an active shooter at any venue," and is meant for businesses, churches, senior organizations, conferences and more.
The presentations will run from 6 to 8 p.m. on both dates and will be held at 37W755 Illinois Route 38 in St. Charles. More presentations are being planned in the future, officials said.
The presentation will focus on how to handle yourself if you end up in an active shooter situation, which are becoming more frequent, according to a news release. The average active shooter event lasts 10 to 15 minutes. Typically, there is no pattern in the selection of victims in an active shooter incident, officials said.
